Social Responsibility and Business

by Jackleen de la Harpe

Nearly 70 supporters attended an invited fundraising lunch last week to address food insecurity in Oregon. The luncheon raised nearly $20,000 including donations and sponsorships.

Hunger was front and center at the Hunger-Free Kids Luncheon at Plaza del Toro. Fiona McCann, Senior Editor, Portland Monthly described why the magazine is willing to bet that the deeper issues of food—hunger in Oregon—will resonate with readers. Lisa Sedlar, CEO, Green Zebra Grocery, emphasized importance of business working together to end hunger in Oregon. Suzanne McLemore, Director of Strategy + Technology, Cambia Health Solutions and a PHFO board member, reinforced Cambia’s commitment to helping end childhood hunger.

Thank you to the wonderful donors who attended the luncheon and to the PHFO Board.

And thank you to our Lead Sponsor, Cambia Health Solutions. And our Supporting Sponsors, Beneficial State Foundation, Columbia Bank, Susan Matlack Jones & Associates, Kaiser Permanente and Legacy Health.

Absolutely, we are stronger together!
