Join us in McMinnville at the Hotel Oregon on Friday, April 11th, for a fantastic day of workshops, networking, information sharing, and fun! 2013 Summer and Afterschool Meals Roadshow
Many thanks to everyone who helped make the 2013 Summer and Afterschool Meals Roadshow a great success!
For the second year in a row, the beautiful Surftides Hotel in Lincoln City hosted the event and extended weekend discounts for those who wanted to enjoy a longer stay at the beach.
We were excited to be joined by the new CEO of the Oregon Food Bank, Susannah Morgan, who kicked off the event with a keynote presentation, “Food Today, Food Tomorrow, and Food for All.” Next, 211info’s Jonathan Fell discussed the recent statewide expansion of their health, community and social services information. Workshop presentations from our partnering organizations included invaluable information, such as an introduction to the Live It! activity curriculum with the Oregon Dairy Council, Understanding Poverty and Stigma with CoActive Connections, Menu-Planning with Feast Portland chefs Justin Wills of Restaurant Beck and Gregory Gourdet of Departure Restaurant + Lounge, and Attracting the Media to your Site with Catholic Charities of Oregon.
To add even more excitement to the day, all of our participants received welcome bags from the Lincoln City Visitor’s Center and four lucky participants went home with door prizes which were generously donated by the Oregon Dairy Council, the Learning Palace, and the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
Thanks everyone for making this event wonderful!

2012 Roadshow
The 2012 Summer and Afterschool Meals Roadshow in Lincoln City was a great success!
Sponsors and partners from across the state joined us for a day of information sharing and networking to help build strong and sustainable Summer Food and Afterschool Meal Programs for Oregon’s kids. Workshops included presentations from successful program sponsors/partners, resources to take home, and opportunities to connect with people nourishing kids around the state.
As our first Roadshow on the Oregon Coast, we were blown away by the generosity of the Lincoln County community and quality of participation throughout the event. We also greatly appreciate those who traveled from other corners of the state to participate and present information.
