Join the Hunger-Free Oregon Board

by Chris Baker

Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon is a small but tenacious organization that is supported in leadership by a dynamic and interactive board. Together, we envision an Oregon where everyone is healthy and thriving, with access to affordable, nutritious and culturally appropriate food. To bring that vision into reality, Hunger-Free Oregon raises awareness about hunger, connects people to nutrition programs and advocates for systemic changes to end hunger.

If you consider yourself to be someone who is passionate about ending hunger in Oregon and would like to help further our work, Hunger-Free Oregon is seeking to expand its board with folks who have a broad range of experiences and skills, and a passion for promoting our vision.

We deeply value the lived expertise of poverty and food insecurity from those who have experienced marginalization. We welcome and encourage applications from those who identify as people of color, LGBTQ, differently abled, single parents, religious minorities, recent immigrants, and people from all generations and educational backgrounds.

At this time we’re looking for new members who can provide leadership in community organizing and/or public policy, fundraising, law, and finance. We seek members who share our strong commitment to equity in decision making and who have skills and experience putting that commitment to work, particularly in pursuing racial and economic justice.

Regardless of background, we seek board members who are active and respected in their communities, and can help us build new partnerships to achieve our mission of ending hunger.

For more information about this position, please read the Board Position Announcement.
To apply, please complete this form by July 12th, 2019. If you have questions please contact [email protected] and a member of our recruitment committee will respond.
