We are excited to announce that Blythe Garma will be joining Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon as our next Executive Director!

Blythe is a first-generation Filipina-American and a proud daughter of immigrants from Pampanga, Philippines. Across her career, she has been a catalyst for change and a passionate advocate for food and social justice. 

With over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, Blythe brings a deep commitment to public service and to Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon. She has championed efforts that have expanded economic, environmental and housing opportunities, strengthened community leadership, and advanced capacity for mutual aid. She has built and maintained relationships across sectors and perspectives by reflecting a steadfast commitment to ensuring that people most impacted by systemic inequities lead in shaping the future of the places they live, work, play, and worship. 

Originally from Chicago, Blythe started her professional career in healthcare working directly with BIPOC and low-income communities on the West Side of Chicago. She received her Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in nonprofit management from Portland State University.

As we welcome Blythe, we also thank Allie Yee who has served as Interim Executive Director since last August. Allie brought steadfast leadership to PHFO as we navigated organizational, staff, and board shifts and helped maintain and strengthen core PHFO programs. Allie’s last day at PHFO will be June 30th. 

For 20 years, Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon has worked alongside advocates, social service providers, state agencies and elected officials to address the root causes of hunger. We are excited to enter this next chapter of PHFO’s work with Blythe and our PHFO team to continue to build long-term, systemic solutions that make food security a right, not a privilege.
