Taxes and EIC

Tax Information, including the Earned Income Credit  (EIC)

There are a number of resources available to help people determine their taxes and take advantage of important tax credits. The Earned Income Credit is important for working low-income families and individuals.  There is more information about the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit on the Internal Revenue Service website.

CASH Oregon, IRS, Oregon Department of Revenue and AARP’s Tax-Aide Program are now partnering to offer over 170 free tax help locations throughout Oregon.  There is also more general information about filing taxes as well as the EIC on the Cash Oregon site.

You can download a flier about resources in the Tri-County area (Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas), and a similar flier with state-wide resources. Free tax help is available at Lloyd Center starting February 10.  For more information, view this flier.

Tax help is also available at Multnomah County Library.  The classes are sponsored by the AARP, but many are available to people of all ages.

A longer document from CASH Oregon is also available with more details on taxes and the EIC in Oregon.

Tax forms are available for pick up at Multnomah County Libraries and US Post Offices.
