Take Action to End Hunger in Oregon

Not sure what you personally can do to help end hunger in Oregon? We have put together a list of ideas to help get you started. Activities can range from an hour or two to a few hours or longer , as well as projects for young people and ongoing work.

Some initial suggestions include:

1. Visit our homepage to find news, events and reports. You can also visit our  calendar page to find out about upcoming community and Task Force meetings.

2. Read the Executive Summary of the Act to End Hunger.pdf as well as the full Act to End Hunger: 40 Ways in 5 Years to Make a Difference.pdf(3 MB). Share it with your friends and colleagues. 3. Sign up for Advocacy Alerts and take 5 minutes to participate in the monthly "Take 5" actions. To receive a copy of the Advocacy Alert every month via mail or e-mail, please This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

4. Arrange for a presentation on hunger at your church, school, board, neighborhood association or other community group. Call 503-595-5502 for details.

5. Write a letter to the editor commenting on current issues or policies related to hunger.

6. Volunteer at a local food bank or meal program. For the location of the nearest food bank, call the Oregon Food Bank at 503-282-0555.

7. Visit our Federal and State Legislation page to learn more, then contact your elected officials.
