SNAP Outreach Steering Committee
Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon works with the Department of Human Services and other partners on a statewide SNAP outreach campaign to increase participation. A statewide steering committee helps identify barriers and solutions, develop new ideas, and measures progress. Through these efforts, participation has increased and now reaches about 70% of Oregonians who are eligible.
Reaching out to the Community
Start your own SNAP outreach workgroup. A number of outreach materials have been developed to help publicize SNAP, including a Food Stamp Outreach Guide. Some materials are targeted to specific populations, including families, seniors, people with disabilities, college students, immigrants, single adults, and those who speak different languages.
