New Release! 2012 Call to Action

Read our updated plan to find out what you can do.

The federal government sets national public policy. Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon works closely with national advocacy partners to achieve federal-level policy changes that can help Oregonians put food on the table.

Policies that Address Hunger

A few policies that play a large role in addressing and preventing hunger are:

The Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 (aka The Farm Bill). Provides funding for SNAP (the food stamp program).

Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act. Provides funding for child meal programs (school meals, Summer Food, WIC, etc.)

TANF Block Grant Reauthorization: Provides block grants to states to assist very-low-income families with children through TANF.

Contact Oregon's Congressional Members

There are several ways to contact your Representative or Senator to let them know that ending hunger is important to you.
