Oregon’s kids need stronger nutrition programs to thrive physically and mentally, be able to learn, and grow up to reach their full potential.

Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon, the Oregon Hunger Task Force, and Oregon Food Bank fully support President Obama’s commitment to ending childhood hunger by 2015 (PDF, 1.3 MB).

Action Items

1. Learn about childhood hunger and health.

2. Join Oregon's Coalition: Feed Kids Today; Grow Leaders Tomorrow.

Sign the coalition endorsement form (PDF, 92 KB) and then join the listserv (contact Jeff Kleen).

3. Sign the Statement of Principles for Reauthorization.

Endorse the National Child Forum's Statement of Principles (PDF, 68 KB).

4. Tell Oregon members of Congress to reauthorize.

Congress is expected to take up child nutrition reauthorization in early 2010. They need to hear from Oregonians who are concerned about childhood hunger and malnutrition. Find your representative.
