About Us

The Oregon Hunger Relief Task Force was created by the State Legislature in 1989 (ORS 458.532 ) to collaborate with state agencies, businesses, non-profits, public officials and local communities to end hunger in Oregon. Working with partners throughout Oregon, the Task Force promotes community awareness, compiles research, develops proposals for government action and conducts outreach to expand participation in Federal Nutrition Programs.

The Task Force’s mission is guided by the Act to End Hunger , a plan created in 2004 to provide a framework to help address the root causes of hunger. The Task Force's mission is supported by staff at Partners For a Hunger-Free Oregon , a private nonprofit organization created specifically to aid and complement the work of the Task Force.
