You can help end hunger before it begins by sharing your story.
Sharing personal challenges, obstacles you’ve overcome or lessons you’ve learned about hunger can be hard. Often, people want to conceal these stories because they feel shamed or stigmatized, but raising your voice and telling your story could empower others to speak up. If these collective voices are loud enough, together we can begin to end hunger.
If you’ve dealt with hunger on a personal level, then you’re an expert we want to hear from. Or maybe you have thoughts to share about hunger you’ve witnessed, from a family member, client, student or friend. Your story helps us learn about hunger in our state. Through your words or photos, your story might inspire, teach and provide hope for families and lawmakers across Oregon and the country.
You can help end hunger before it begins by sharing your story.
What happens with your story?
After submitting your story here, we will review it carefully. We may reach out to you to discuss further action for sharing your story with the public, but your name and specific story will not be shared with anyone without your explicit consent. Your story does not have to be written perfectly, we just want to hear your voice.
The bottom line: we want you to feel in control of your story and empowered by the act of sharing. Thank you for sharing your story to help end hunger in Oregon.
