Summer can be a very difficult time for the nearly 250,000 children in Oregon who are facing food insecurity. When school is out, children who receive free or reduced price meals during the school year have a greater chance of becoming hungry. This leaves them without the necessary nutrition and energy for critical summer play, exercise, and learning.
The Summer Food Service Program is a wonderful opportunity for kids to receive a nutritious breakfast and/or lunch during the summer months and to spend time with friends in the sunshine.
Help us prevent summer hunger before it begins.
Goal: PHFO would like to raise $84,000 to support Summer Food Programs across the state of Oregon
Goal: We want to help launch 20 new free summer meal sites in 2013
Goal: Every single family in Oregon will know where they can find a free summer meal site in their area
